Hello from Team Antāti!
At ANTĀTI, we specialize in uncovering and preserving the layered histories of South and Southeast Asia. Our name—drawn from āti (beginning) and antam (end)—reflects our guiding belief: that history is a continuous story, shaped by revisiting, reinterpreting, and re-presenting the past where it was once paused or forgotten.
We are more than a research consultancy. ANTĀTI offers deep expertise in historical research, curatorial practice, and professional training for the museum and heritage sector. From collection development to translation, and display strategy, we bring a thoughtful and rigorous approach to every project.
Our mission is to elevate how South and Southeast Asian histories and cultures are understood and shared. By refining the ways these narratives appear in museums, publications, and public discourse, we help shape more accurate, inclusive, and compelling representations of cultural heritage.
Whether you're curating an exhibition, building a collection, or looking to strengthen your institution’s historical narratives, ANTĀTI is your partner in bringing history to life—through storytelling, scholarship, and expert guidance.
Let’s reimagine the past—together.
Meet NALINA
FOUNDER & MANAGING DIRECTOR
Hello! I started Antati because I saw a real need for thoughtful, specialist services that could support the heritage sector, expertise that could support public and private institutions, communities, and anyone looking to engage with and showcase these histories with intention and respect. With almost two decades of curatorial experience, I wanted to build a space where this work could be done well, and where people who care about heritage as deeply as I do could come together, share knowledge, and grow in a community grounded in curiosity and purpose. My academic work, focused on Tamils in the Straits Settlements keeps me anchored in the complexity and interconnectedness of these histories. And after spending a significant part of my life in Singapore, this region isn't just where I live; it's become, in every real and lasting sense, home.
Meet GEN
DIRECTOR/ HEAD, CURATORIAL & RESEARCH PROJECTS
Hii!! I'm super excited about what we do at Antati, where I get to follow the threads of stories most people overlook. My academic background in South Asian Studies sparked my interest in heritage, which I now apply to exploring Singapore's local history, objects, and communities. I've always been drawn to the quieter corners of the arts and heritage-the overlooked objects, the forgotten places and lives-bringing to life the extraordinary stories behind ordinary things.
I've also worked in advertising, CGI production, and project management, where I learned how to make sense of messy parts, bringing the whole puzzle together. Now, I'm happy to be surrounded by people shaped by the same curiosity and purpose that I have.
